My Story

From an early age, I have been captivated by both art and the natural world. My creative journey began with a deep appreciation for visual storytelling. One of my earliest artistic experiences came through photography, where I worked printing black and white photographs and capturing portraits for a local high school yearbook. That experience taught me the power of framing a moment and instilled in me an enduring sense of composition. My path took an unexpected turn when I pursued studies in radiologic technology, learning to capture detailed images of the human body. While seemingly unrelated, this work deepened my understanding of form, structure, and the hidden beauty within.

Later, while living in England, I was profoundly inspired by the stained glass windows in centuries-old churches. The vivid color, intricate detail, and narrative quality of those windows sparked a lasting passion, and I began studying the art of stained glass. Upon relocating to Florida, I shifted my focus to mosaic art, continuing to work with stained glass while embracing the expressive freedom and texture unique to the mosaic process.

Today, I divide my time between creating original mosaic works and teaching. I find great joy in guiding students through their creative journeys, watching them discover their own artistic voices, support one another, and take pride in their finished pieces. For me, mosaic art is not only about assembling materials; it is a deeply meaningful process of transforming broken pieces into something whole and beautiful. Through both art and instruction, I aim to foster connection, creativity, and the enduring power of shared artistic experience.
